This page is to be the only self-indulgent part of the QosWeb site. It has been prompted by the terrible start to the season and some of the circumstances surrounding it and will give me a chance to sound off about things that I am unhappy about, of which there are many. However, there will be no witch hunts against individuals ... well, not often! My main hope for this page is that it will provoke some reaction from those who read it and provide some inspiration for others to air their views. The Standard seems to be the local sound board, I am hoping that we can widen the debate through this page. I would be particularly interested to hear the reaction of fans who don't make it to the games, but who have some opinions about the club.
So for now, bear with my ramblings and if you have something to contribute, please email [email protected] or sign the guestbook. However, please remember to give your permission for the comments to be included on the page.
Looking forward to hearing from you

The most depressing thing about the start of this season is that pre-season everything looked so good. Having seen all but one of the pre-season games, my hopes were high. the team looked solid, they played good football and always looked likely to score goals. All that disapeared with the first kick of the ball against Caley. Why?

I have recently become concerned with the role of Rowan Alexander. Not only is he team manager but he is also commercial manager, dealing with sponsorship, and corporate deals. Now I have every respect for the job Rowan is doing and this is not a criticism of him, but with the recent prerformances, maybe he should be dealing just with the football.

Stevie Mallen has been transfer listed at his own request. Now Stevie's form hasn't been great but with the clubs lack of goals so far, perhaps we should be trying to keep players rather than letting them go. Stevie has always given 100% for the team and I hope that he will reconsider and stay and fight for his place. Maybe both sides are being a bit hasty.

Now five games into the season, things are looking bleak, if not desperate. For those who were not at Inverness, and I'm sure there are many, rest assured things are looking better. Going forward, Queens looked dangerous and created more chances than the first four games put together. The midfield of Potts, Townsley, Rowe and Nesovic linked well with Bailey and Mallen, who was outstanding. However, the defence looked shakier than the American president. Too often players were left unmarked in dangerous positions, too often players were allowed to run with the ball unchallenged, too often the back four was caught square by a ball over the top, too often these frailties have led to us conceding goals. Yesterday, Potts was the main culprit, but he is by no means alone, and I voiced this opinion, to which Rowan looked unimpressed, although having travelled nearly 500 miles round trip for the game I feel the right to voice an opinion now and again. I promised there would be no witch hunts, but I feel the need to break the rule and question the inclusion of Potts in the team. There is no doubt that he is a good player and a fine addition to the squad, but he has added nothing to the defence that played so well in pre-season. All he has brought is a hesitance that, frankly, we could do without. I have seen every game so far, except one pre-season game, and in my opinion Potts has never done enough to justify his selection ahead of Aitken, Rowe or Lilley. Now I am not in a position to pick the team for Rowan and hopefully Potts will improve as I am sure he is a much better player than he is showing at the moment, but how long can we wait at the bottom of the league without doing something to tighten up the defence. One last point, things are getting better, some of the passing seen pre-season is emerging, especially yesterday, and goals will come. Those hitting the panic button, talking about relegation, slagging off individual players in the local press and shouting for the sacking of Rowan Alexander are not helping the situation. We should be supporting a team that will be as good, if not better, than anyone else in the division. Lets just hope its soon!
